Passage counting by ultrasonic passage sensor
Advanced detection for vehicle counting in parking garages
The USDS 300 ultrasonic drive-through sensor enables the direction-dependent counting of vehicles within a parking garage. The drive-through sensor is mounted on the ceiling parallel to the floor at a distance of 2 to 3 meters like a common fluorescent lamp and creates a typical height profile of passing vehicles. By correlating this information and suitable pattern recognition techniques, vehicles can be clearly distinguished from other objects. The device has three different sensor groups, which can also distinguish two vehicles driving close behind each other with ease. The detection of a vehicle is transmitted bi-directionally via two ultrasonic sensors to a counting device. The parking data can also be sent via the serial interface. In this case, further information such as vehicle height and speed are recorded and transmitted.
