Commercial Apprenticeship at SWARCO
Industrial Clerk
YOUR TASKS
- Work in all commercial departments (e.g. sales, purchasing, human resources).
- In order to understand our products, you will also work in the technical departments (e.g. engineering or production).
- In the last months of your apprenticeship, you will be able to specialize (to the extent possible) in a department of your choice.
- During your time in the individual areas, you will receive projects and/or problems from us, which you will tackle independently and, of course, resolve with our support.
ORGANIZATIONAL MATTERS
- Prerequisites: Minimum very good secondary school leaving certificate (very good grades in mathematics and German). Must enjoy commercial activities, be reliable, have organizational skills and be able to work in a team
- Duration of apprenticeship: 2, 2 ½ or 3 years (depending on previous education)

Technical Apprenticeship at SWARCO
Electronics Technican for operating technology
YOUR TASKS
- Work on the installation of new facilities and assist with maintenance, modification and repair on site.
- Work in all technical departments of our company, e.g. engineering, production, traffic engineering or technical service.
- Whenever possible, we will offer you assignments on the shop floor as well as at other service locations.
ORGANIZATIONAL MATTERS
- Prerequisites: Qualified secondary school leaving certificate, intermediate secondary school leaving certificate; technical understanding, diligence and organizational skills, manual dexterity and sure hands
- Duration of apprenticeship: 3 ½ years
- Start date: August/September

IT Systems Electronics Technican
YOUR TASKS
- Work in all of our technical departments (Systems, IT, Traffic Technology, Development, and Technical Services) in order to get to know our products and their features in addition to our infrastructure.
- Work on planning, installing, maintaining, and fixing our systems – these will be the main elements of your apprenticeship.
- Your apprenticeship will also cover the basics of IT, IT security, energy supply to and operational safety of systems, privacy and data protection, and customer service.

YOUR TASKS
- The dual studies program is a unique combination of an academic higher-education degree and real-life experience working in a business.
- You will switch between the university and our company every three months.
- During your time in the individual areas, you will receive projects and/or problems from us, which you will tackle independently and, of course, resolve with our support.
ORGANIZATIONAL MATTERS
- Prerequisites: General higher-education entrance qualification or specific higher-education entrance qualification in a relevant subject
- Duration of studies: 6 semesters
- Start date: Winter semester (Start in September with an internship
at our company, from October 1st: Study at the DHBW or the university) - Full-time Dual Studies: Alternate between three-month phases of theory (university) and practice (SWARCO)

Business Administration - Industry Specializastion
YOUR TASKS
- During your studies, alternate between the DHBW and our company every three months.
- Work in all the following areas: Finance and Accounting, Human Resources, Marketing and Sales, Materials and Production Management.
- Be involved in the day-to-day business, as well as in the commercial support of our projects.
- During your time in the various departments, you will be assigned projects and/or problems to work on independently, with support provided as needed.
ORGANIZATIONAL MATTERS

- Duration of studies: 6 semesters

YOUR TASKS
- The dual studies program combines an academic higher-education degree and real-life experience working in a business.
- Over the course of 3.5 years, alternate between theory (at the university) and practice (at the company)
- During the practical phases, work with us in construction operations, construction management, project management and construction accounting
ORGANIZATIONAL MATTERS
Prerequisites: General higher-education entrance qualification or specific higher-education entrance qualification in a relevant subject
Duration of studies: 7 semesters

"As an apprentice Industrial Clerk at Swarco Limburger Lackfabrik GmbH, my workday is both diverse and exciting. My primary responsibilities in internal sales involve managing relationships with both existing and new customers. This includes creating quotes, processing customer orders, maintaining the customer database, and handling all the various tasks that come up in an office setting.
The team is incredibly collegial and supportive. I felt warmly welcomed from the very first day. The work atmosphere is open and communicative, which makes collaboration much smoother. My trainers and colleagues always take the time to answer my questions and assist me with my tasks. The offices are modern and well-equipped, providing a comfortable working environment.
As an apprentice, I also have the opportunity to participate in various internal and external training courses and development programs that enhance my knowledge and skills. Swarco also provides the opportunity for full-time employment after the apprenticeship, allowing me to build a career in different areas of the company. This motivates me to strive for excellence and continue my personal development.
Like any apprenticeship, we face challenges to overcome. One of the biggest hurdles at the start was getting acquainted with the various areas of responsibility and understanding Swarco's extensive range of products. However, with the support of my colleagues, I quickly adapted to these challenges. Additionally, working with customers demands strong communication skills and flexibility, as you often need to address a diverse range of requests and needs. I view these challenges as opportunities for personal growth and development in my role.
