This year's UN Road Safety Week takes place from 17 to 23 May. It focuses on the topic of speed reduction in urban areas and the protection of vulnerable road users. On this occasion, Geneva based International Road Federation has launched an Open Letter calling for action on speed, namely reducing it to 30 km/h (20 mph) in areas where vulnerable road users and vehicles mix.
IRF member SWARCO supports the Open Letter by publishing it also here on this website.
