Traffic signs and sign posts are generally positioned close to the road side, where considerable recurring wind loads by passing trucks have to be considered. The installation framework must be rigid and stable, but provide passive safety through defined deformation (or shearing off) at the same time.
SWARCO has developed a system of lattice towers whose structure can securely accommodate signs in heights of 1,000 to 6,750 mm and widths of 1,750 to 7,000 mm:
- VZ 434 Tabular direction sign
- VZ 438 Advance direction sign
- VZ 439 Subdivided advance direction sign
Construction
Made of 3 mm aluminum plate with surrounding aluminum edge profile. If structurally required, profiles applied to the rear of the sign deliver additional stability. Rear side painted grey, front side carries reflective foil in reflection classes RA1, RA2, RA3A, or RA3B.
