Challenge
SWARCO Ireland is expanding, and we’re looking for electricians or candidates with relevant electrical, mechanical or technical experience to train as Traffic Technicians, working on the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of Intelligent Traffic Systems across Ireland.

What you will do
After full training, you will:
- Install, maintain, and repair traffic signals and roadside technology
- Carry out electrical and technical fault-finding
- Respond to faults
- Work safely to industry standards, including completing all relevant documentation
- Provide high-quality service to local authorities and clients.
What you will work with
- Traffic signal installations and controller cabinets
- Pedestrian crossings and push-button units
- Vehicle detection systems (loops, radar and sensors)
- Variable Message Signs and speed display units
- Fibre and communications equipment supporting smart junctions
- Intelligent transport technology (supporting safer, smarter roads)
Profile
Desirable:
- Qualified Electrician (National Craft Certificate / Level 6 electrical qualification or equivalent)
- Full electrician qualification is not essential – candidates with suitable technical experience will be fully trained.
What you need
- Full and Clean Driving Licence
- Strong technical and problem-solving ability
- Comfortable working outdoors and at height
- Willing to participate in an on-call & shift rota.
- Good communication and teamwork skills
