Your Challenge
- Installing, configuring, and maintaining MongoDB databases in various setups, including replica sets, sharding, and stand-alone
- Installing, configuring, and maintaining PostgreSQL databases in cluster and stand-alone configurations
- Ensuring high availability, performance, and security of database systems
- Implementing and managing backup strategies for MongoDB and PostgreSQL databases
- Performing regular backups, restoring databases as needed, and ensuring data integrity
- Monitoring and optimizing database performance, including query tuning and index management
- Performing capacity planning and scaling of databases to meet the growing needs of the business
- Developing and maintaining automation scripts using Ansible and Terraform for database provisioning, configuration, and deployment
- Automating routine database tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention
- Managing and troubleshooting database servers running on Linux-based systems
- Ensuring system security, patch management, and overall system health
- Understanding and implementing basic Kubernetes concepts for database deployment and management
- Collaborating with DevOps and development teams to integrate databases with containerized applications
- Maintaining comprehensive documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures
- Providing regular reports on database performance, health, and capacity
Your Profile
- A university degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in database engineering or a similar role
- Extensive knowledge of MongoDB, including installation, maintenance, replication, sharding, and backup/restore procedures
- Extensive knowledge of PostgreSQL, including installation, maintenance, clustering, and backup/restore procedures
- Proficiency in Linux system administration
- Basic understanding of Kubernetes and its role in database management
- Strong scripting and automation skills using Ansible and Terraform
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Fluent English (written and spoken)
